Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Friday announced the appointment of 192 Special Assistants.
A statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, said the appointees represented a true reflection of all the 192 electoral wards in the three senatorial districts of the state.
According to the statement, those appointed from each local government made history as being products of inclusive and participatory governance in Edo State, and also represented the number of wards in such LGs.
It explained that the special assistants would assist the government at the wards where offices would be set up with adequate communication facilities to enable them channel information to the government speedily.
The appointees were mandated to be the eyes, ears and where necessary, mouthpiece of the government at their various wards.
They were also asked to ensure that every citizen has a say in the administration of the state under Governor Obaseki’s principle of inclusive governance.
