Supreme Court has upheld the election of Yahaya Bello as the Kogi state governor.
The case was to challenge the emergence of Yahaya Bello as the candidate of the All Progressive Congress following the death of the gubernatorial candidate, Abubakar Audu who was still leading the votes at the time he passed and waiting for announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).
The judgement rendered by Justice Sylvester Nguta dismissed the appeals filed by the Abiodun Faleke, former running mate to All Progressive Candidate, Abubakar Audu, Idris Wada of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and others.
The judge stated that they will provide justification for their decision on September 30.
