The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has arrested the Speake of the Ebonyi House of Assembly Ogbonnaya Francis Nwauru.
The speaker was picked on Friday around 11am at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, by operatives of the Commission after he spurned two previous invitations by the agency over an alleged misappropriation of N60 million constituency project fund.
According to the statement, Nwauru was first invited on October 20, 2015 to appear before the Enugu zonal office of the commission but did not respond to the invitation .
A reminder letter was sent to him on November 19, 2015 which he also failed to respond to.
The lawmaker representing Izzi West state constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, allegedly diverted and misappropriated the said constituency project fund before his emergence as the speaker.
As at the time of filing this report, Nwauru is still been question at the commission
