AWC Qualifiers: Omagbemi Invites 40 To Falcons Camp

The interim coach of the Super Falcons, Florence Omagbemi, has called 40 players, including Arsenal Ladies forward Asisat Oshoala, to camp for their 2016 Africa Women Championship qualifying fixture against either Senegal or Guinea.

Falcons, who are seven-time champions, have drawn a bye into the second round of the qualifying series, with the final competition to hold in Cameroon in November.

On April 4 and 12, Nigeria will face the winner of the first round fixture between Senegal and Guinea, which will be played in March over two legs.

Goalkeepers Ibubeleye Whyte and Sandra Chichi; defenders Onome Ebi, Josephine Chukwunonye, Ngozi Ebere and Joy Jegede; midfielders Halimatu Ayinde, Ngozi Okobi, Evelyn Nwabuoku and Joy Bokiri; and strikers Desire Oparanozie, Chinwendu Ihezuo and Francisca Ordega are among those invited.

The players are expected to report to Serob Legacy Hotel, Wuye, Abuja on Tuesday to kick start preparations for the games.
