It is D-Day in Bayelsa as the re-run election in Southern Ijaw holds today between the two frontrunners, Governor Seriake Dickson and Chief Timipre Sylva.
The election which was held on December 5 and 6, 2015 was declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) following series of violent witnessed in the area.
Out of the 8 local government areas in Bayelsa, the incumbent governor Seriake Dickson is leading with over 33, 000 votes against his opponent, Chief Timipre Sylva.
However, the Southern Ijaw Local Government that will eventually determine the winner has a total of 120, 847 registered votes.
The die is cast. The destiny of the Bayelsans in the next four years must be decided today.
