Nigeria Golden eagles defeated the strong rival Mali to lift the FIFA U-17 World Cup yesterday at the Estadio Sausalito Vina del Mar, Chile with a 2-0.
The first half of the match ended in a goalless despite the penalty awarded in favour of the eaglets but missed by Osinachi Ebere.
However, the second half was a different ball game entirely, as the eaglets dominated the game and put a delight on the faces of Nigerians with a first goal by Victor Osinhen. Making it his tenth goal of the tournament.
Later on in the 59th minute, Funsho Bamgboye sealed the victory for the golden eaglets with another goal.
This victory makes the fifth time the Golden Eagles have won the FIFA U-17 World Cup( 1985, 1993, 2007, 2013 and 2015)
