N78m website: I did Not Corruptly Enrich Myself- Fashola

FasholaThe former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola on Wednesday has defended himself over allegations of building his own personal website with N78m.

Speaking at the Ministerial screeningg yesterday, Fashola said he or his commissioner never signed a cheque. He said there are [rocedures in awarding state contracts, hence he culd not have enriched himself.

“ As governor of Lagos I didn’t sign cheques. None of my commissioners signed cheques. I didn’t see sit in awards of contracts., There is a tender’s board.

“ The unfortunate thing about money is that it always raises suspicion, even among brothers. In all, nobody has said I have personally enriched myself,” Fashola said in response to a questions asked from Senator Eyinaya Abaribe

Also responding to a question on loyalty, Fashola said, “ The concept of loyalty is very strange concept” May our loyalty never be tested. If your loyalty is tested you may end up taking bullet for your children.
“In public life, I have remained loyal to causes I have signed on to.. Nobody can accuse me of going back on my words.
