Police Commission Frees, Retires Biu, Promotes Two AIGs

The Police Service Commission has reviewed CP Zakari Biu’s appeal against his dismissal, exonerated him and then retired him.

The commission also approved the promotion of two Commissioners of Police, Danladi Mshielbwala and Ibrahim Idris, to the rank of Assistant Inspectors-General of Police.

Ikechukwu Ani, PSC spokesman, said in a statement on Friday in Abuja, that the 13th plenary meeting of the commission presided over by the Chairman, Chief Mike Okiro, exonerated Biu from the issues surrounding the escape of Kabiru Sokoto, an arrested Boko Haram kingpin in Abuja.
