Anti-corruption War: NLC Holds Support March For Buhari Sept 10

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said it has directed all affiliate unions and state chapters across the country to mobilize all their members and workers for mother of all demonstrations slated forSeptember 10 in support of President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war.

The NLC and the House of Representatives also rejected the call by the new Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Dr. Ibe Kachikwu for the removal of fuel subsidy, saying that the removal of subsidy will impose more suffering and pains on Nigerians.

Rather, they challenged the NNPC boss to concentrate on the job given to him by President Buhari to ensure that the nation’s four refineries start working at optimum capacity, new ones are built and clean up the corruption in NNPC, rather than being the mouthpiece and promoting the interests of oil barons and multinational oil companies.
Comrade Ayuba Wabba, NLC President and the Speaker, House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, gave their respective positions on the congress.
